Ambassadors Letter of Support

To Whom It May Concern:

We are a committee of serving ambassadors in Washington DC who would like to call your attention to GLOBAL FAMILY Day, (celebrated each January first) a vital but sadly under-used tool for increased peace and sharing in our troubled world.

With serious and growing problems affecting all the world’s population in the areas of economy, environment, energy, and enmity, we believe that widespread recognition and observance of GLOBAL FAMILY Day during the forty-eight hours of January 1, 2009 worldwide, can help to cool tempers, raise morale, reduce hunger, and make it easier for our world leaders to come together next year to creatively and cooperatively begin to solve our problems.

The GLOBAL FAMILY initiative, designed to develop unifying annual traditions all the world’s people can share, was conceived by children, commended by the US Congress, endorsed by twenty-four sitting heads of state, and adopted by the UN General Assembly (Res.56/2) in 2001.

We urge that you support GLOBAL FAMILY Day by asking your governments to re-affirm it, by posting a statement in support (on www.gfday.com) and by pro-actively promoting it among family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and foes as well.
